Shiraoi Ainu Village
The Shiraoi Ainu Museum, also called Porotokotan, is one of Hokkaido's better Ainu Museums. Ainu culture and lifestyle is shown in an outdoor reproduction of a small Ainu village and inside a conventional museum building. Several performances, such as traditional Ainu dances, are held throughout the day.
Hell Valley
Jigokudani or "Hell Valley" is a spectacular, appropriately named valley just above the town of Noboribetsu Onsen, which displays hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It is a main source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters. From the valley, there are attractive walking trails through the wooded hills above Noboribetsu. If you follow them for about 20 to 30 minutes, you will get to Oyunuma, a sulfurous pond with a surface temperature of 50 degrees Celsius and a smaller, even hotter, mud pond nearby.
Day 3:
Mount Showa
Showa Shinzan is one of Japan's youngest mountains. Accompanied by earthquakes, the mountain suddenly rose from a flat wheat field to its current height of 290 meters between 1943 and 1945. The mountain was named "Showa New Mountain" according to the contemporary reign of Emperor Showa (1926-1989). Still venting sulfurous fumes today, Showa Shinzan stands directly next to Mount Usu, which bears responsibility for the new mountain's birth. You can get good views of the young volcano by taking the Usuzan Ropeway.
Mount Uzu
Mount Usu (Usuzan) is a volcano which has erupted four times in the past 100 years. Its most recent eruption occurred in the year 2000. The Usuzan Ropeway brings you close to the volcano's summit. The upper station's observation deck offers panoramic views of Lake Toya and neighboring Showa Shinzan. From a second observation deck a short walk away, there are views of the ocean and Mount Usu's largest crater, which was formed in an eruption in 1977.
Fort Goryokaku
Completed in 1864, this was Japan's first Western-style fortress and finished just in time for it to be occupied by the Ezo Republic as their headquarters. It never saw any action though, as the rebels surrendered peacefully. This was built to strengthen defense. And also, this place is inoling in war. This shape is star. When you look at this form from top,you will understand this shape. Most of the fort was consequently demolished and this is now a large park and popular cherry-blossom spot in spring. Many people bring box lunch and enjoy seeing cherry-blossom. The fort also houses a small museum with exhibits on local history (rotating each year).
Mount Hakodate
Mount Hakodate (Hakodateyama) is a 334 meter high, wooded mountain at the southern end of the peninsula on which much of central Hakodate is located. On clear days and nights, the view of Hakodate from the mountain is spectacular. Facilities at the summit include observation platforms (free of charge), souvenir shops, a cafe and a cafeteria style restaurant.
The Hakodateyama Ropeway departs from the Motomachi District. The ropeway's lower station can be reached in a 10 minute walk from the "Jujigai" tram stop (3rd station, 5 minutes, 200 yen from Hakodate Station) or by direct Hakodate Bus from Hakodate Station (10 minutes, 230 yen, every 30 minutes in the evening only). The cost for a ropeway ticket is 1160 yen for a round trip and 640 yen for a one way trip. The ropeway operates from 10am to 10pm (until 9pm during winter, from 9am during the Golden Week and summer holidays).
Day 4:
Odori Park
Odori Park (Odori meaning "large street") is the 105 meter wide park in the center of Sapporo running east to west, and separating the city into North and South. It was original built to operate as a fire break, but is now one of the best parks in the city. Odori Koen stretches over twelve blocks and offers a large pleasant green space during the non-winter months, replete with trees, flowers and fountains. Odori Park is also the site of the city's major annual events, including, of course, the Sapporo Snow Festival in February. In mid-July to mid-August, Odori Park is the setting of the Sapporo Summer Festival, celebrated with beer gardens set up by various beer companies over the length of the park alongside stalls selling fried noodles, corn on the cob, and other foods. There are live bands providing entertainment, and some great people watching. Its not a bad place to spend an evening. Other festivals held in Odori Park are the Lilac Festival in late May heralding the arrival of summer and Bon-Odori in mid-August with traditional dances to appease the souls of the dead.
(Pole town, Aurora town)
Day 5:
Shiroi Koibito Park
Shiroi Koibito Park is a kind of theme park by Ishiya, a local chocolate company. The company's flagship product are the Shiroi Koibito cookies, two thin butter cookies with white chocolate in between, a mandatory item on the souvenir shopping list of most visitors to Hokkaido. The park consists of various Disneyland style buildings housing shops, a cafe and, most interestingly, a chocolate factory, which is open to the public. Besides some windows, from behind which visitors can observe the production process of the chocolate cookies, there are many chocolate related exhibits.
What To Buy: The Shiroi Koibito range of chocolate cookies are to-die-for! Two pieces of cookies with a slice of chocolate (milk or white) in the middle, individually wrapped. The ones with white chocolate are in the dark green wrapping, while those with the milk chocolate are in the white wrapping. Available in boxes of 12, 18, 24, 28, 36 (mixed) and 54 (mixed).
What To Pay: A box of 12 chocolate cookies go for 630 yen, while a mixed box of 54 costs 3150 yen. A 55g slab of chocolate (5 different varieties to choose from) costs 158 yen.
Asahiyama Zoo
They consider the best ways to show the animals when they build facilities. For example, there is a cylinder tank set in the seals' facility so that visitors can watch seals swim vertically through the tank up close. Also, visitors walk through a long transparent tunnel in the penguins' pool, watching the penguins swim from all directions. In winter, penguins' parades are held for their exercises, and visitors enjoy watching them.
Snow Museum
If you enjoy taking pictures, this is the place for you. The museum is set up high on a hill with a small art gallery, textile museum (worth seeing, if only for the gift shop) and a chapel that is popular for weddings. The building itself (and the attached chapel) are lovely and worth a picture or two. Inside, there are actual snow formations preserved in a kind of refrigerated display area. The background lights are green, and all the individual glass chambers give it a real X Files feel. I had a great time taking photos down there. I do recommend you bring a light jacket for your arms if you come in summer, because the chambers are very cold. The next area is a hall decorated with pictures of actual snowflakes. It was lovely.
Day 6:
Otaru 小樽
Otaru Canal (Otaru Unga) used to be a central part of the city's busy harbor in the first half of the 20th century, when large vessels had to be unloaded by smaller ships, which then transported the goods to warehouses along the canal.
Niseko
Niseko is the most famous ski resort in Japan, known for tons of light powder snow, its spectacular back country, and a large amount of foreigners, especially Australians who are responsible for popularizing the resort with foreign travelers in recent years.
The Niseko resorts have plenty of long, wide runs in addition to backcountry skiing. The backcountry can be accessed from special gates at the resorts, through resort tours and helicopter tours. There is also backcountry on Yotei Mountain, a nearly perfect volcanic cone, which can be seen from Niseko.

What do you think about adding some more images? I don’t want to offend anyone, site is really nice. But as I know visitors acquire information much more effective when they see certain useful illustrations.
